What Happened To Payet Marseille
Dimitri Payet had an eventful season with Marseille in 2016-17. He was excellent for the French club, scoring nine goals and providing 13 assists in all competitions. His performances led to him being named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.
However, things went downhill for Payet after that. He refused to play for the club in the second half of the 2017-18 season, leading to him being sold to West Ham United.
What exactly happened between Payet and Marseille?
It all started in January 2018, when Payet refused to play for Marseille in their match against Lille. He later issued a statement saying that he no longer wanted to play for the club.
Marseille responded by suspending Payet from the team. They also said that they would be willing to sell him in the summer transfer window.
West Ham United then came in and bought Payet for £25 million.
So what caused Payet to rebel against Marseille?
There are a few theories.
Some believe that he was unhappy with the way he was being treated by the club. Others say that he was angry about not being given a new contract.
It is also possible that he was upset about Marseille’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.
Whatever the reason, it is clear that Payet was not happy at Marseille and decided to leave.
What has been the reaction to Payet’s move to West Ham?
There has been a mixed reaction.
Some people have accused Payet of being a traitor for leaving Marseille in such a way. Others have praised him for his loyalty to West Ham United.
West Ham United fans are certainly happy to have him. They have already started singing his name at the London Stadium.
What does the future hold for Payet?
It will be interesting to see how Payet performs at West Ham United.
He is clearly a very talented player, and if he can recapture his form from 2016-17, then he could be a real asset to the team.
However, there is always a risk that he could fall out of favour again and return to being a rebel.
Only time will tell what happens to Payet Marseille.

What happened to Payet?
What happened to Payet?
The question on everyone’s lips after Dimitri Payet’s transfer to Marseille from West Ham in January has finally been answered – he’s been playing pretty poorly.
After a string of impressive performances in the Premier League last season, Payet’s form has nosedived in the current campaign. The France international was even booed by the Marseille fans after a string of poor displays.
Payet has admitted that he’s been struggling with a back injury, but some have argued that the midfielder’s attitude has also been a factor in his poor form.
Whatever the reason, it’s clear that Payet is not currently in top form and he’ll need to get back to his best if he’s to help Marseille compete for the title this season.
What happened to the Lyon vs Marseille game?
Details are still emerging, but it is understood that a fire broke out at the Stade de Lyon shortly before the Lyon vs Marseille game was scheduled to start.
As a result, the game has been postponed, and it is not yet clear when it will be rescheduled.
Both clubs have issued statements via their official websites, confirming the postponement and expressing their disappointment.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said: “We are all very disappointed. We were looking forward to this game and it is unfortunate that it has been postponed because of the fire.”
Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud added: “We are all very sorry for the fans and for the players. We were looking forward to playing this match, but the most important thing is that there are no injuries or fatalities.”
It is not yet clear what caused the fire, but investigations are ongoing.
Why was the Lyon game abandoned?
On Wednesday, November 22, the UEFA Champions League Group Stage match between Lyon and Besiktas was abandoned after a fan invaded the pitch and attacked players from both teams.
The game was just minutes away from the final whistle when a man ran onto the pitch and attacked Lyon players Nabil Fekir and Memphis Depay. The man was quickly apprehended by security, but not before he had caused significant disruption to the game.
Both Fekir and Depay were visibly shaken by the attack, and the game was eventually called off. The man was later identified as a Besiktas supporter.
It is still unclear what motivated the attack, but Besiktas have condemned the actions of their supporter.
UEFA have said that they will be investigating the incident, and it is possible that Besiktas could face sanctions.
The Lyon-Besiktas game was just the latest in a series of incidents involving football fans attacking players. In October, a fan punched Marseille player Dimitri Payet during a game against RB Leipzig.
Football authorities must do more to ensure the safety of players. They must make sure that adequate security is in place at all games, and that fans who commit violent acts are appropriately punished.
Why did Dimitri Payet leave?
Dimitri Payet shocked the footballing world when he announced he was leaving West Ham in January 2017. The attacking midfielder had been in fine form for the Hammers, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in just 18 Premier League appearances.
So why did Payet leave?
There were a number of reasons behind Payet’s decision to leave West Ham. The first was the fact that he was no longer a first-team regular. Payet had been dropped from the starting XI by Slaven Bilic in late 2016, and he was not happy about it.
The second reason was the fact that Payet was not being paid what he felt he was worth. The Frenchman had signed a new contract with West Ham in February 2016, but his wages were significantly lower than those of his teammates.
The final reason was the fact that Payet did not feel wanted by the club. The Hammers had reportedly turned down several offers for the midfielder in the January transfer window, and Payet felt that they were no longer interested in him.
So, in summary, Payet left West Ham because he was no longer a first-team regular, he was not being paid what he felt he was worth, and he did not feel wanted by the club.
Who hit Payet?
Who hit Payet? This has been the question on everyone’s mind since the West Ham midfielder suffered a nasty injury in a recent match against Everton.
The incident occurred in the second half of the game, when Payet was struck in the face by a ball that had been kicked by Everton striker Romelu Lukaku. The blow was so powerful that it broke Payet’s nose and forced him to leave the field of play.
Initial reports suggested that Lukaku had deliberately kicked Payet in the face, but the Everton striker has since denied any wrongdoing. He has claimed that the ball accidentally struck Payet after he had missed a shot.
However, some West Ham fans are still convinced that Lukaku deliberately aimed at Payet’s head. They have even started a petition demanding that the FA take action against the Everton striker.
So far, the FA has not taken any action against Lukaku. They are currently investigating the incident to determine what actually happened.
Whatever the outcome of the FA’s investigation, it is clear that Payet’s injury was a serious one. He is expected to miss at least two months of action while he recovers from his broken nose.
Why did Marseille Lyon get suspended?
On 16th April, the Ligue 1 match between Marseille and Lyon was suspended after just three minutes due to a brawl that ensued between the two sets of players.
The trouble began when Lyon midfielder Lucas Tousart aimed a high tackle at Marseille forward Dimitri Payet. This led to a scuffle between the players, and soon enough both sets of fans were getting involved, throwing objects onto the pitch.
The referee was forced to suspend the match, and after a lengthy delay it was eventually decided to call the game off altogether.
Both clubs have been hit with suspensions, with Marseille having three players banned for two matches, and Lyon having five players banned for one match.
So why did Marseille Lyon get suspended?
There are a number of reasons why the match was suspended. The brawl began when Tousart went in hard on Payet, and many feel that this tackle was the spark that ignited the whole incident.
Marseille also feel that they were treated unfairly by the referee, with midfielder Maxime Lopez sent off after just two minutes for a tackle that didn’t even warrant a yellow card.
Lyon have accepted their punishment, but Marseille are planning to appeal their suspensions.
Why was Lyon and Marseille suspended?
On Wednesday, 8th of November, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) announced that both Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille had been suspended from all competitive matches for the next three weeks.
This came as a result of the violence that took place outside the Parc Olympique Lyonnais following Lyon’s 3-1 victory over Marseille on Sunday, 5th of November.
The brawl began when a large group of Marseille fans began attacking Lyon supporters as they left the stadium.
This was followed by a series of pitched battles between the two sets of fans, with police eventually stepping in to break things up.
In total, 18 people were arrested and 15 were injured in the violence.
Lyon and Marseille have both issued statements apologising for the behaviour of their fans.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas described the behaviour of the Marseille fans as “barbaric”, while Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud said that he was “shocked and disgusted” by the violence.
The suspensions means that both Lyon and Marseille will have to do without their fans for three crucial matches in the run-up to the Christmas break.
Lyon are currently second in the table, just two points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain, while Marseille are in fifth place, four points off the top.
